Dividend
A dividend is a share of a company’s profits paid out to its shareholders, usually in cash every quarter. Dividend yield expresses the annual payout as a percentage of the stock price. Dividends provide income even when share prices are flat, and reinvesting them accelerates long-term growth.
Example
Owning $10,000 of a stock with a 3% dividend yield pays you about $300 per year.
